Full day city tour of Bhubaneswar Temples, famous for their beautiful architecture (One of the Most Important Temples, Mukteswar Temple, influenced by Buddhism). Later, visit the Odisha (Orissa) State Museum, which houses many Buddhist sculptures collected from different Buddhist archaeological sites of Odisha (Orissa), and Khandagiri & Udaygiri Jain Caves from the 2nd Century BC. Overnight at the hotel.
Visit Dhauli, famous for Ashokan Rock Edicts and the place where the Battle of Kalinga was fought, which led to a great change in Ashoka's mind, making him a Buddhist. Also visit the Peace Pagoda. Later, visit Pipili applique works and the World Heritage Site, the Sun Temple of Konark (observe the Buddhist influence on this temple), and the famous Jagannath Temple. Return to Bhubaneswar. Overnight at the hotel.
Full day excursion to Lalitigiri (an archaeological site of a Buddhist monastery from the 4th to 8th Century AD) with monastery parts, many votive stupas, various Buddhist sculptures, a Chaita hall, and a huge stupa from where caskets of Buddha's relics are found. Visit Ratnagiri, the largest Buddhist monastery known, which flourished from the 4th to the 14th century AD, with most sculptures from the Vajrayana sect, hundreds of votive stupas, brick stupas, and a huge monastery. Later, visit Udayagiri, another huge Buddhist monastery still under excavation. Then, return to Bhubaneswar. Overnight at the hotel.
Full day visit to Kayam Hill Buddhist cave and Langudi Giri, which is one of the recent excavations with ruins of monasteries, stupas, and numerous Mahayanic sculptures, including the Five Dhyani Buddhas. Return to Bhubaneswar. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Our representative/Tour Manager will provide your departure transfer to Bhubaneswar Airport/Railway station for your onward journey.
